Out of Hours
Darlington Clinical Commissioning Group has the responsibility for Out of Hours urgent care services for patients. The Out of Hours period runs from:-
|Monday - Friday||6pm -8am|
|Saturday - Monday||8am - 8am (weekends)|
|Bank Holidays||from 6pm the evening before a bank holiday until 8am the day after.|
The Out of Hours service can be accessed by ringing either 01325 469168 or 01325 746322.
What to do when the surgery is closed:
- If it is a life threatening emergency call 999
- If you need medical help fast, but it is not an emergency call 111
- If you have a minor ailment, can a pharmacy help?
Calls to 111 are FREE from landlines and mobiles.
NHS 111 is available 24/7, every day of the year.
When to call 111
You should call 111 when:
- You think you need to go to A&E or to another NHS urgent care service
- Your GP surgery is closed and you need healthcare advice
- You don't know who to call for medical help
When to call 999
Call 999 for life threatening emergencies such as:
- Major accident or trauma
- Severe breathlessness
- Severe bleeding
- Loss of consciousness
- Severe chest pain
In addition to dispensing prescriptions the large network of community pharmacies across County Durham and Darlington provide a wide range of services.
E.g. minor ailments, sexual health and smoking cessation services.
